Anne Sofie Madsen with a wish to show the well-known through the un-known and to use traditional handcraft methods and couture techniques within ready-to-wear. With experience from working for some of the biggest name in the industry, John Galliano for Dior and Alexander McQueen, the Danish designer debuted with her couture-inspired collection during London Fashion Week in 2010.
A firm favourite among trendspotters, Anne Sofie Madsen experiments with materials such as leather applied to a fine mesh base, built-up collars with unconventional patterns, and hand-drawn illustrations printed digitally on silk or wool fabrics. The consistent play with contrasts and materials creates a look of mixed toughness and fragility to each design, to such an extent that its as much art as it is fashion.
