Creating a home and unsure on how you’ll approach the task? A friend of mine recently bought a gorgeus 19th century flat in Oslo, with high ceilings and lots of original features. But unsure on how she can acheive a beautiful home she’s now on the look out for a experinced interior designer to assist her.
I think it is a good idea! After all purchasing the wrong designer lamp can be an expensive lesson learnt. If you don’t have the time or the skill it takes, it’s probably best to consult a professional, that will provide you with a design counselling scheme for one room or (if the budget allows) for the entire house. I’ve recently come across the London based Scandinavian interior designer Anna Hansson, with a portofolio of contemporary and sleek city appartments. Her work shown below.

Step into Summer with Camilla Skovgaard
So I simply refuse to talk more about fun and colourful rainwear and wellies. It’s time to be optimistic and plan to step into Summer -in style! These gorgeous heels from Camilla Skovgaard does it completely for me!

I actually discovered this brand in a second hand store in London. I noted down the brand, thought about it over night and went back the next day to buy the pair -but it had already been snapped up by someone who knew their fashion labels. Shame! So Camilla Skovgaard has been on my radar ever since. Every sesaon she captures silouettes and forms them into extrodinary stylish footwear for feisty young women with enough attitude to wear them. We love her signature sole and the more femenine styles, although secretly impressed by the more bold ones as well. What do you think? Have you been to Selfridges to have a look?

Minimalistic Toj clothing rack from Normann Copenhagen
The Toj is a clothing rack with an industrial and simple expression designed by Simon Legald, and it’s the newest addition to Norman Copenhagen’s furniture collection. The idea behind Toj is to have easy access to your wardrobe and to have your favourite pieces on display, to have a coordinated wardrobe where no garment will be sitting in the dark untouched and unused. If you have a wardrobe you’re proud of -why not show it off!? Simon Legald explains: “I wanted to design a clothes rail that could be displayed openly – a piece that was more furniture than a basic rail for clothes. Toj works well in many different environments since its expression is clean and minimalist, and it is the individual person who gives Toj character.”

The Toj consists of a skeleton, hanging rail and shelf providing space for clothes, shoes and bags. It’s produced in two different sizes both in ash wood with white or grey shelves and will be available from August 2012.

Copenhagen Fashion Week 8-12 August 2012
Copenhagen Fashion Week featuring collections for the Spring/Summer 2013 season, is set for a strong offering of both Danish and international fashion talents. This summers schedule, running from August 8—12, is ready and the week is packed with exciting fashion events; Trend shows, shows, press-events, receptions and parties.
Copenhagen Fashion Week official show venue for SS13 is TAP 2, in the old Carlsberg brewery. TAP 2 is a 3,000 square meter raw factory space in the historic Carlsberg area and its unique historical surroundings makes the perfect location for fashion shows. The old brewery has now been transformed into an arena for cultural events as part of a reinvention of the area as a creative hub.
TAP 2 is situated next to TAP 1, which is housing the children’s fashion trade show CPH kids as featured on Little Scandinavian.
Both established and up-and-coming designers will showcase their collections in a professional venue that is our biggest to date. “We’re pleased to have so much young talent on the schedule to join the ranks of established forces like Designers Remix, By Malene Birger and Henrik Vibskov. Peter Jensen and Wood Wood return to bring us more of their underground sophistication, and opening the official venue at TAP 2 is the young and bold Danish newcomer Freya Dalsjö,” says Anne Christine Persson, Development Director of Copenhagen Fashion Week.
We recommend following CFW on Twitter on @cphfw for instant updates and general fashion chat with hashtag #cphfw

Bruuns Bazaar Spring 12 -up to 75% off on timeless Danish fashion
I had breakfast with a Norwegian friend this morning in one of the trendy coffee bars in London. She had decided to ignore the horrible rain and just get on with it, dressed in a beautiful nostalgic white summer dress by Bruuns Bazaar. Launched in 1994 by two brothers, Teis and Björn Bruun, Bruuns Bazaar quickly became one of the pioneers within the Scandinavian fashion scene with affordable luxury with an understated yet sophisticated glamour. It is an elegant and modern collection of wearable investment pieces, also regularly worn by the fashion conscious Crown Princess Mary of Denmark.
Bruuns Bazaar signature style is about relaxed elegance. We think it’s lovely quality and timeless design.

Danish Fashion by Whiite for Spring 2012
Founded in 2003, WHIITE is sophisticated functionality. WHIITE’s Design Director Frederikke Hviid has an impeccable sense of style which has translated itself into eye-catching combinations created using colors, fabrics and detailing.
So far there’s only a WHIITE silky night slip in my wardrobe, given to me at a press day. But it’s the most comfortable yet stylish piece of sleep wear I’ve ever owned, so I’m on the look out for more designs from WHIITE.
@ WHIITE Spring 2012
There’s four WHIITE collections each year, with the main collections centred around Spring and Autumn. Two smaller seasonal collections are added throughout the year for Summer and Christmas.
In November 2008 WHIITE opened its first flagship store in the heart of Copenhagen, Kronprinsensgade 7 late November 2008 and it’s on my Must Visit list when I’ll be going to Copenhagen Fashion Week in August 2012.

Margit Brandt a Fashion Genius of the World
Margit Bjørløw Brandt, born 27 January 1945 in Denmark, completed an apprenticeship in tailoring at Københavns Tilskærerakademi in 1964 and took beacem an apprentice to Pierre Balmain in Paris shortly after. She met and married Erik Brandt in 1966 and as jetsetters the couple frequented the famous New York club Studio 54 where they developed close friendships with the likes of Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Diana Vreeland and Truman Capote.
Margit and Erik Brandt
Margit Brandt introduced her first collection under the label B-age together with her husband Erik Brandt at the Copenhagen Fashion Fair in 1965. The design was unprecedentedly short and close-fitted and very different from what other designers were presenting and the collection filled a gap in the market offering young women chic fashion. Throughout the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s, Margit Brandt was a renowned global fashion brand, known for woman’s fashion, lingerie, swimwear, children’s wear, jewellery, home wear, furniture, cosmetics and fashion watches available in Harrods, Selfridges, Bendels, Saks and Bloomingdales in addition to own label stores in Paris, Barcelona, Tokyo, San Francisco, New York and London. Erik had a nose for branding and self promotion, one year the staff at the fashion fair were replaced by a red telephone with a direct line to head office. Buyers could simply call in their orders! Margit Brandt was also engaged in other unique assignments, she twice designed the official uniforms for the Danish Olympic team as well as the new gala uniforms for the Royal Danish Air Force. The brand was relaunched in 2005, staying true to its roots with fashion forward and trendsetting clothes for young women. Margit Brandt was further acknowledged for her lifelong commitment to Danish Fashion when she was knighted by the Queen of Denmark and received the Knight of the Royal Order of Dannebrog.
Margit Brandt sadly passed away because of illness October 2011.
Margit Brandt Chic Fashion for Spring 2012
Had lunch with a lovely friend the other day, that had secured some fab pieces from the Danish design label Margit Brandt from the Spring 2012 collection at Fenwick. She loved the cut, colours and were surprised how affordable it was as well. I even think the collection is on sale at the moment. So here’s the campaign images from the Copenhagen based design house.
